The Devil's Laughter 1953

Down the street comes a parade of children; they are beating a small keg like a drum and playing homemade flutes. On the ends of their improvised pikes, they carry the bloody heads of three cats. The children only mimic the daily spectacle known as the French Revolution playing itself out through the streets of Paris. And like their parents. the French children have become monsters!

The Devil’s Laughter is the story of Jean Paul Marin   who ____at the age of twenty ____was beaten and imprisoned by the noble class and at the age of twenty five helped create the society that unleashed the greatest reign of terror the world had ever seen.
